3D model of the Dragon Balls

I will like to show you all my recent 3D work and it's the iconic objects from the Dragon Ball franchise by Akira Toriyama, the Dragon Balls. These items are shown in TV show i.e. Dragon Ball, Dragon Ball Z, and Dragon Ball GT, also in video games as well. It was another challenge to model these items in Autodesk Maya. Here are the images of the Dragon Balls shown below:

Few model shots of the Cybuster's Discutter in Possession Mode

In today's post, this is the latest 3D work that I have been working on and it's the sword model called "Discutter", a weapon used by the Masoukishin of Wind, Cybuster piloted by Masaki Andoh from Super Robot Wars OG Saga Lord of Elementals (Masoukishin in Japanese) owned by Banpresto and Bandai Namco Games. This sword is in its Possession Mode after calling upon the spirit of wind, Cyfis. The modeling was a big challenge and I had to look for references of the weapon which it's not easy to find. So, I used whatever references I could find to model its shape, form, and size. Here are some images of the models as shown below:

Finished model of the Discutter with no UV maps and texture

Wireframe of the Discutter

Texture testing of the Discutter with newly created UV map and texture map

The model is almost set and needs some final touching before rendering. Hope you all like my work.

The Goddess Longsword

This post reviews on the 3D weapon model of the Goddess Longsword from The Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword on the Nintendo Wii. The shape and form on this weapon is close to the one in the game, it was a tough challenge to model such weapon as one object. Here are the images of the model as shown below:

Custom Battler Bombermen

This is my latest 3D work of Bomberman and it's based on Bomberman 2 (Custom Battler Bomberman) on the Nintendo DS. While I was finishing up, I added two of the same model as different Bombermen from the franchise with their own texture map. It was a big challenge for me and it was worth it. Here are the images of the model as shown below:

Modeling of Bomberman

This is another 3D modeling that I worked on three days ago and it's Bomberman developed by HUDSON SOFT. It was a challenge for me to model him, so I created a reference sheet providing front view, side view, and others based on the Nintendo DS game - Bomberman 2 (Custom Battler Bomberman in Japan). It was tough to create a reference sheet because there are none on the internet, so I had to be creative.

This is the reference sheet that I made containing his front view, side view, facial expressions, etc.

First, I started to model him in basic shape getting the right proportion, shape, and form as I modeled.

After finishing the model, I duplicated it for a side view and back view as shown in the image below
showing how I modeled a character.

After creating a UV map of Bomberman done in Unfold 3D Magic, I exported back into Maya, tidy up the UVs, exported its UV in PNG to be used in Photoshop for texturing. Then, imported the texture created and applied it onto the model. Next, I set up a studio lighting for rendering and the result was looking good.

Weapon Concept and Illustration

In today's post, these are some weapon concept that I worked on based on video games, movies, historical weapons, etc. I made some changes on the sword's hilt and added some symbols on the dagger and the sword itself in japanese.
