Building a simple voxel home

Over a month or so, I started enjoying voxel art using MagicaVoxel software. So, I created a simple voxel home from the ground up, nothing too fancy.

Here are some images shown below:

My 1st Voxel art

It's been so long since I uploaded any 3D related work. I have been out of my blog page for some time, sorting myself out and my family.

Now, I have returned with a new tool in my kit and it's none other than voxel art.

Voxel is new to me as it's basically a 3D pixel art, similar to Autodesk Maya, Blender and other 3D modeling software but in pixelated form. I was introduced into it by one of my elder siblings and I was intrigued by it.

The term "Voxel" is a unique combination of two words - "volume" and "pixel". It was also used in creating several gaming media such as Minecraft and others.

Note: I used the free software called MagicaVoxel for creating 3D voxel art of my own.

Anyway, here are some images of my first voxel art of an empty swimming pool:

Gunvolt 2 - Grimoire 3D Modeling in Progress

Update on my new 3D model work of the Grimoire from Azure Striker Gunvolt 2 (Armed Blue Gunvolt Sou). It wasn't easy to create the corner protector of a book in 3D form, but I am leaving it as a simple image to be attached to the texture image and formulating a way to create a  Normal Map of the book cover texture for it to look realistic. Here are some sample of my work including a sketch and reference images as shown below:

Four reference images for creating the Grimoire in 3D form.

Sketch work of the Grimoire Corner Protector Pattern drawn from the ground up.

The corner protector pattern design was done in Manga Studio 5 (Clip Studio Paint) in step-by-step.

The modeling is still in progress, just experimenting the texture and coming up a way to create a Normal Map to be used in Blender.

Gunvolt 2 - Grimoire 3D Model WIP

This is a new 3D work that I'd been working on. It is the Grimoire, but not just any grimoire you'll see from any fantasy games or movies, this is an item used by The Seven (Grimwald Seven or G7 for short) from Azure Striker Gunvolt 2 (Armed Blue Gunvolt Sou) for the Nintendo 3DS console, Nintendo Switch and Steam. The Gunvolt series was developed by none other than Inti Creates, the same developer that made the Mega Man Zero series, including Mega Man ZX and Mega Man ZX Advent and other game titles.

The Grimoire was made by an organization called Eden, using the Glaive stolen data from the Sumeragi Group from the 1st Gunvolt game and empowered by using the powers of The Muse (Cyber Diva) and it is used by Eden's most elite group - The Seven (G7).

Here are some sample screenshot of my work as shown below:

More screenshots of the Mobian Shark 3D model

Here are some screenshots of my 3D work of a Mobian Shark character shown below. The model is in progress, just tweaking the polygons and adjusting the body model. Both the head and body model aren't attached yet. It's coming along nicely and slowly.

Update on the Mobian Shark 3D Model

New update of my work in progress of a Mobian Shark's body. I did some research on the actual shark's anatomy such as the shape of its tail fin, dorsal fin (for the back body), and pectoral fins (on both arms). I created the pectoral fins on both arms and the tail fin by extruding the faces and forming the shapes on each part of the model, but not the dorsal fin. It's coming along nicely and there is a lot of work. Here are the images of the body model shown below:

New Model Project - Mobian Shark WIP

It's been a while since I posted some 3D works on my blog page. Now that I'm back, I am currently modeling a Mobian body based on Sonic the Hegdehog franchise. I know that there have been many characters of different species seen in games and comics - Hedgehog, Fox, Avian, Reptile, Dragon, Aquatic etc. For Aquatic Mobians in a video game, none. So, this is one that I am trying to do and it's in progress. Below are the screenshots of the body model in Blender:
