ZBrush sculpting of Sonic the Hedgehog
This weekend, I worked on the 3D model of Sonic the Hedgehog in ZBrush 4R4. I started sculpting his body, adjusting his quills to make them look more thicker. The sculpting is not done just need to do some touching on his quills and it will be ready in the later post. So, here are the sample snapshots of the ZBrush sculpt of Sonic.

3D project of Sonic the Hedgehog
It's been two months since I last posted some of my works on my blogspot page and I do apologize for it. I have been out of blogger for quite some time, I was working on a 3D work project and side project in Autodesk Maya 2012, then some traditional drawings and digital arts as well to improve my drawing techniques. If you want to see some of my traditional drawings, digital drawings, photo manipulations etc., visit my deviantart page at: http://mastereni2009.deviantart.com/
In this new post, I was working on a 3D model to give myself a challenge so I used a reference from Google of SEGA's popular blue mascot - Sonic the Hedgehog. It took me about 3 - 5 days to model his body structure, his quills, shoes, and gloves. Speaking of quills, it was tough to model them so I used my modeling skills to make out of its shapes and forms. Also, his shoes and gloves are separate objects. Here are the sample shots of the model that I worked on including the references:
Sonic references used for the 3D work
- Front view of Sonic
- Side view of Sonic
3D snapshots model of Sonic the Hedgehog
Complete model of Sonic without his shoes and gloves
Sonic's lump feet (using Sonic X reference seen in Episode 9)
